Labor Department Unveils New elaws® Advisor

Employers stand to benefit from a new elaws® Advisor
debuted by the U.S. Department of Labor earlier this month. The
FirstStep Recordkeeping, Reporting and Notices elaws®Advisor helps employers determine what recordkeeping, reporting and
notice requirements apply to them under major laws administered by the department, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act. It has been integrated with the revised and expanded FirstStep Poster and FirstStep Employment Law Overview Advisors. All three Advisors help employers identify the federal employment laws
relevant to them and explain how to comply with the requirements. This new suite of elaws® Advisors is available at www.dol.gov/elaws/firststep.

New Guidelines Available for PennDOT’s Agility Program

PennDOT’s Agility Program allows eligible partners to exchange services with one another. One of the biggest advantages of the Agility Program is that long-term relationships are developed between partners and PennDOT, and limited resources can be stretched between these qualifying organizations. Eligible partners include local governments, councils of governments, volunteer fire departments, state and federal agencies, non-profit ambulance and rescue companies, school districts, and charitable hospitals. The Agility Program is available in the 11 engineering districts in Pennsylvania, which cover all 67 counties in Pennsylvania. To learn more about how your organization can benefit from the Agility Program, see the attached PDF document containing the program’s current guidelines. If you’ve not already done so, please take ten minutes prior to May 27 to complete the survey at http://projects.juniata.edu/ surveymachine/SurveyRails/public/surveys/show/56 The survey is also attached in case you prefer to complete a paper copy.
