HCCC and Juniata College to Hold a Cloud Computing Seminar

The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce invites business representatives and members of the community to attend the Cloud Computing Seminar that will be held on Tuesday, September 25 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in Brumbaugh Academic Center room A100 on the Juniata College Campus. David Fusco, Juniata College Associate VP and CIO will cover the history of cloud computing, foundations of cloud computing, virtual storage, virtual servers/applications, backup to the cloud, thin clients (vs fat clients), iPad model and cloud computing at Juniata College.

Dave has been in Higher Education for the majority of his professional career. He has worked at Saint Francis University, Penn State University, and now works at Juniata College. Dave joined Juniata in 1996 and has taken on roles including both teaching and administrative responsibilities. In his current role, Dave is responsible for overseeing the college’s technology operations and encouraging the pedagogical implementation of technology. Dave also holds the faculty rank of Assistant Professor of Information Technology at Juniata, where he teaches courses innetwork design and management in the IT department and assists with the educational technology course in the Education department. In addition, Dave also teaches courses for Penn State and Saint Francis in their Information Technology and Computer Science departments.

“Creating a Market Driven Website” Seminar

The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce is offering the seminar “Creating a Marketing Driven Website” on Thursday, June 7 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The seminar is presented by Janet Chambers, owner of Beacon Marketing Solutions and will be held in Good Hall Room 202 on the Juniata College campus.

Whether your business needs a website, or has a website, this seminar will help you. Attendees will learn how to make their company website content rich so viewers will feel the website provides valuable information and gives them reasons to visit it again and again. Attendees will also learn how to determine marketing goals for their website and learn about appropriate page content and site maps. Chambers will help attendees determine what types of graphics are best to support their site and their company image and inform them of ways to drive traffic to their website. Attendees will also learn tips for increasing website pick up in the search engines like Google.
