Beat the Winter Blues 2013

The Huntingdon County Chamber held its annual Beat the Winter Blues event on Sunday March 3rd , 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Huntingdon County Country Club.  The entertainment for the evening was the wonderfully talented Miss Melanie & the Valley Rats. They performed while guest had the opportunity to help their favorite charities and try some of Huntingdon’s best food. The event offered an opportunity for a dozen area non-profits to raise funds and interact with other area leaders and community members.  This event was catered by some of Huntingdon’s finest restaurants who were all competing for votes in the 2013 Taste of Huntingdon County.  Some of the big winners of the evening were The Huntingdon County Humane Society who led all non profits in fund raising and Mr. Rick Walker of Top’s Diner who took home the prized cutting board plaque as the winner of Taste of Huntingdon County.  Other raffle winners included Peggi Lynn who won 2 tickets to a Steelers game, Tad Haffey who won a Yurt vacation in Virginia, and Ronald Bargiel who won the Grand Prize, a 32’’ Vizio Flat-screen HDTV. Congratulations to all of the winners from the event and a special thank you to all who attended and to those who helped make the Winter Blues 2013 a success.
